NHS Scotland SIMD Score

The SIMD option displays the individual patient SIMD score based on the Scottish government's official tool to identify areas of multiple deprivation in Scotland. This identifies patients that may require different levels of care.

To search for a patient's SIMD (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivations) score, go to their Details tab. Check that their postcode is entered correctly, and click on the magnifying glass next to the SIMD Score field.

Once found, the SIMD score stays on patient’s details so you only have to look it up once.

Please note these results come from the NHS database - if it does not find the patient it will be because of the following reason; the new postcodes have not been assigned a SIMD value; or the postcode does not exist; or no deprivation information has been attached to the postcode.
