Your claim may be returned with a message such as:

No Band on a Free Repair/Replacement EDI claim

or

EDI claim Free Repair/Replacement Within 12 Months invalid

Error Explained

You will receive this error with these messages because BSA will think the claim for the free repair or replacement is not appropriate. This will typically be because the patient did not have a paid item supplied on that contract in the last 12 months to qualify this replacement one as being free.

How to Resolve

To resolve, alter the free replacement from the treatment item and resubmit the claim.

Dentally Free Replacement Marker

You can contest the decision with BSA, but that needs to be done outside the Dentally claims process.

Continuation of Treatment

If this is a continuation of treatment (as in its within 6 months of the same banded treatment) leave the item as is, tick to complete but do not click charge.

Dentally Continuation of Treatment on Claim

On the second submission screen, mark the claim as a continuation. This will remove the fee from the claim.
