Stages of an NHS Claim England & Wales

Once a course of NHS treatment has been completed, the Clinician needs to submit the claim in order to receive their UDAs.

This is done in real time rather than claims being bundled up and sent in bulk and the responsibility lies on the Clinician.

Once submitted, there are several stages to an NHS claim. You will have 1 hour in which a course of treatment can be edited and then resubmitted if something needs to be amended.

After this time, if you need to amend the claim, you will need to wait until the NHS responds with an updated status.

There are also a number of other NHS claim statuses which would indicate if there is a problem with the claim and if it needs attention.

Queried - The claim has been queried. Often the response from the NHS is that the amount you have claimed and that they wish to pay is different - Go to the individual patient record to see what to do next.

Error - There is an Error. Go to the individual patient record to see the error and error number to work out what you need to do next to resolve.

Invalid - the claim has something wrong with it and cannot be processed. Go to the individual patient record to see what is invalid and work out what you need to do next.
