The new Dentally Bridge Install Wizard is not compatible with 32-bit Windows operating systems. Our new installer uses modern install components which are not supported by older 32-bit operating systems.

Below is our legacy installer which will work with Windows 7, 32bit and Windows 10, 32 bit operating systems.

Important information

As this is a legacy installer, support for this has also been discontinued. While Dentally is happy to provide instruction and assistance on how to install and configure the legacy Bridge, in the event of a technical problem you would need to update your operating system to comply with the Dentally System Requirements in order to use the supported Bridge Installer.

You can download the Legacy Installer setup files below 👇

Getting started

Click the above download link and download the file into your downloads folder

Now it's downloaded and you have opened the folder, extract it and run install.bat as an Administrator, see below how to do this 👇

Installing

In order for Dentally to communicate with your existing, third-party software a Google Chrome Bridge program is required, which can be installed by following these simple steps:

Install the Dentally Software Bridge Chrome extension. This can be found here.

Setting up configurations: after the file is installed, ensure that you have all the required information selected for the profiles you need to support as you will now need to configure the Google Chrome Imaging bridge Extension

Default options

Some of the fields may contain a default button that will fill in the field with the standard configuration for your imaging software. Setups vary, so the defaults may not always be suitable for you. It may at least give you a hint as to the format or approximate location which needs to be entered.

ID Field

The ID you would like the link to use. If the imaging software has been previously linked to another practice management system, we recommend using legacy ID to avoid creating duplicate patients.

Software Path

This is the path where the program you wish to link to is installed. Usually, it is in Program Files directory but depending on where it was selected at installation it may also be Program Files (x86). To find the path where the program is located, right-click on the icon for the imaging program (what you usually click to start it) and select Properties. The path is then listed under Start In. Copy this path into the Imaging Software Path field in the extension option. Remember to remove the surrounding quotations.

Storage Location Path

This is where the program stores the images it creates. This is usually in a location all computers on the network have access to, such as a networked hard drive or server. It varies between systems but is usually decided when the imaging software was installed by a technician from the imaging company. Depending on the software you may be able to locate it by browsing the program’s settings or searching for images on the computer/network.

Multiple Bridge

You are able to set-up multiple bridges with Dentally. To set up a second bridge, open the options pop-up as before where you should see your existing bridges. To create a new bridge click Add New Bridge and repeat the process as outlined above. When multiple bridges are installed, clicking on the tooth icon in the address bar will reveal multiple icons, one for each of the installed bridges. Simply select the icon of the program you wish to open.
