What are the different types of custom fields in Dentally?

Custom fields allow you to add and include additional information against your patients and treatment items. There are actually 3 different types of custom fields in Dentally, which can be used for gathering different information. The three types are as follows...

  • 2 Additional Fields on the patient record details tab

  • Custom Fields/Screens that can be created and linked to the patient record

  • Custom Fields/Screens that can be created and linked to treatment items

Add and amend the 2 Additional Fields on the patient record details tab

Settings > Practice > Other Tab > Custom Fields & Charting.

Here, you can amend the titles of the fields. They are free-type boxes only. They can be reported on using the patient report. This is a great way to record additional information that's available at a glance.

Creating & editing Custom Fields Screens that can be created and linked to the patient record:

Settings > Practice > Custom Fields Tab

Creating, editing and adding Custom Fields/Screens that can be created and linked to treatment items:

Settings > Treatments & Plans. From the treatment list, select the treatment item > Fields Tab > New Custom Field.
