Information icon:
Please note the information icon next to the "Discount" field. No discounts can be applied to treatments that are from a paid or partially paid invoice
Adding a discount - Apply total discount
When selecting "Apply total discount" you will notice a "Discount" column and a "Total discount" input field
You can add the full gap amount or a partial discount amount into the "Total discount" field. The amount added will be applied proportionately across the line items
Adding the full gap amount example
The discounted amount is added proportionately across the line items and the amount due is $0.00
Adding a partial discount example
The discounted amount is added proportionately across the line items and the amount due will be the difference that the patient needs to pay.
Adding negative amounts
Negative amounts cannot be entered, the error message below will display. Adjust the input to a positive value to continue
Adding amounts greater than the gap amount
Discount amounts can only be equal to or less than the gap amount. Adding a bigger discount than the gap amount will display an error. Adjust the amount to continue
If you go back to "No discount changes" and then back to "Apply total discount", the last input will be remembered but the allocated discount values will be reset to $0.00
Original input amount
Change to "No discount changes"
Change back to "Apply total discount"
The original input amount is remembered, but the allocation is removed for the user to re-confirm or change
Adding a discount - Apply line discount
This follows the same principle as the "Apply invoice discount" except the user can now apply a discount to a specific treatment line item without affecting any of the other treatments line items.
When selecting "Apply line discount" you will notice a "Discount" column only is shown
In the example below, a $10 discount has been applied to the first line and the full gap discount has been applied to the third line. The second line is unaffected.
The same error messages as per "Apply invoice discount" apply:
Adding negative amounts
Negative amounts cannot be entered. Adjust the input to a positive value to continue
Adding amounts greater than the gap amount
Discount amounts can only be equal to or less than the gap amount. Adding a bigger discount than the gap amount will display an error. Adjust the amount to continue.
Also, as per the "Apply invoice discount" process, if you go back to "No discount changes" and then back to "Apply line discount", the allocated discount values will be reset to $0.00
Original input amount
Change to "No discount changes"
Change back to "Apply line discount"
The allocation is removed
No discount applied
If you don't apply any discounts and select "Finish", an error message will display. This is a prompt to make sure the user does not want to apply any discounts as no discounts can be applied after this point.
Select "No" to go back to apply discounts
Select "Yes" to Finish
Note: If you have added or amended any discounts in the claim screen, then this message will not display.
