How and when should I use the collections report in Dentally?

The Collections Report is a Canada Specific Report πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ and it allows you to see a full list of transactions taken through Dentally in a specified time period.

You can bundle these payments together day by day, this will stop them appearing on the initial report and will make cashing up at the end of the work day as simple as possible.

When should I use the Collections Report?

We recommend using this report daily to assist with cashing up at the end of each work day.

This report makes it easy to break down card and cash payments and even allows you to break this down further by payment plan and practitioner using these filters at the top of the report. πŸ‘‡

How to use the Collections Report?

The Collections Report is found under the Reports menu, in the Financial section.

When viewing the Collections Report the filters will be shown on the left hand side. You can use these to change the specifications you are reporting on.

This will always default to the current days payments but can be changed as needed.

How to create and view payment bundles?

Create a payment bundle to lock the day's takings or to integrate with Xero.

  • At the top right of the screen, select Payment Bundle. πŸ‘†

  • Select New payment bundle to create a new bundle using the filters you have currently selected.

  • You will see the New Payment Bundle screen.

  • If you are not happy with your selections you can click cancel to go back to the Collections report and alter the filters there.

  • Once you are happy with the selection for the Payment Bundle, click Save.

  • Once completing this action, the invoices associated to these transactions will be locked.

To view an existing payment bundle select Payment Bundle. in the top right of the Collections Report. Those View payment bundles to view a list of all previously created bundles.

Once you view your bundles you can then view, print and delete created bundles as needed from the button highlighted below. πŸ‘‡

Print and Export

You can Export your bundle or current report by using the Export button in the top right hand corner of the Collections report. This will export your data into an excel spreadsheet as a CSV file onto your computer.

You can use the Print button to send the current data to your chosen printer for a hard copy of the report.
