Let's take a look at how you can use the Practitioner Utilisation chart to ensure you are getting the most value.

The Practitioner Utilisation chart is found under the new 'Analytics' dashboard. This can be accessed using the dropdown box at the top of your dashboard screen.

The activity chart shows a breakdown of practitioner utilisation from today for the next four weeks.

šŸ“ Please note: Closed days are not displayed in the chart unless at least one practitioner has been made available.

By hovering over the chart, you can see a detailed breakdown of that day for the practitioner selected. You will see the following appear in the tooltip pop up as you hover over the chart:

  • Utilised time refers to any type of appointment with a patient attached in the calendar.

  • Bookable time is the amount of available time left in the calendar that is not filled with appointments that have a patient attached.

  • Total working hours are calculated by the practitionerā€™s schedule in Settings. When a practitioner does not have a schedule, the site open and closed times are used to define their availability.

šŸ’” Top tip, to get the most accuracy and value from the Practitioner utilisation chart, we recommend the following:

  • Use Settings > Diary > Schedules to define practitioner availability.

  • To make quick changes to availability, use the Update practitioner availability calendar feature.

  • Avoid using recurring appointments or appointments without patients attached to block out time or communicate messages to the wider team.

More information about calculating practitioner availability can be found in the Practitioner Utilisation Forecast help guide.
